1984
In July 1984, brothers Víctor Rubero and José «Pepín» Rubero founded Joe and Vic Hotel and Restaurant Supply, Inc. in San Juan, Puerto Rico. With a solid background in the hotel and restaurant industry, Don Víctor had worked at the Puerto Rico Sheraton and the Bankers Club, while Don Pepín gained experience in kitchenware and equipment sales alongside his brothers at Rubero Brothers, Inc. United by their knowledge and passion, they opened their first establishment at stop 15 in Santurce.
The dedication and commitment of the Rubero brothers, supported by Rosa Meléndez, Don Víctor's wife, laid the foundation for the company. Over the years, Don Víctor's children, Víctor L. Rubero and Yvonne Rubero, as well as Don Tomas Duarte and other key employees, joined the company. In 1988, the company moved to a larger building at Ave. Fernández Juncos, Stop 17-1/2 in San Juan, where they established their showroom.
1995
DVíctor and Don Pepín traveled the entire island, offering first-class service to their clients. In 1995, Raúl Rubero, Don Pepín's son, began working at the company while completing his bachelor's degree in Operations Management at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. In 2001, he joined full-time as a salesperson, applying the knowledge acquired from his uncle and father, contributing to the company's growth.
2013
In January 2013, Don Pepín retired and Raúl Rubero became a partner along with Don Víctor Rubero. This combination of experience and youth allowed Joe and Vic to continue their expansion, representing more brands and increasing their clientele.
2022
In January 2022, Raúl Rubero took on the role of President, ushering in a new era with exclusive agreements with leading brands such as Vulcan, True Manufacturing, FOH, Libbey, and Vollrath, in addition to representing other distinguished industry brands. Alongside his cousins Víctor and Yvonne, they continue to forge the path for a strong future for Joe and Vic.
40 years
This year, Joe and Vic celebrates their 40th anniversary, commemorating four decades of commitment, dedication, and success in the industry. Maintaining the values instilled by its founders, Joe and Vic has established itself as a leader in the sale of kitchen utensils and equipment in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Currently, the company has twelve employees, two warehouses and a showroom, as well as its own technicians to cover all its warranties and services.
